Vehicle wraps' dynamic four color images on moving
vehicles of any size or shape will definitely turn heads and
generate incremental sales for your company. It is like a traveling
billboard that never comes down! No other form of advertising
is as effective in gaining and holding the viewers' attention
for your company or brand.
How Many Miles Do You Drive Each Day?
Each Week? Each Year?
And how many people do you think share the road with you? There
could be hundreds, possibly thousands, over a full year. Imagine
all those people seeing YOUR website address or company's logo
and phone number and seeing it everyday, everywhere you go!
Design
Concepting your print ideas and images into reality is done
through a variety of resources. For vehicles, JFR Graphics has
a complete digital library of accurate templates built 1/20th
to scale, to aid in the design project. We are happy to provide
a design concept for you or email a template of your vehicle
upon request. When color is absolutely critical, small cross
sectional proofs can be printed for your initial approval. Throughout
the design phase of your project, we will work closely with
you in every aspect of your identity program.
Power Washing Exterior Graphics
Wrapped vehicles may be power-washed or pressure-washed with
care. Excessive pressure during power washing can damage the
graphic by allowing water to get underneath the vinyl and lessen
its adhesion to the vehicle surface, causing the vinyl to lift
or curl. These problems are magnified by wind. This is a critical
problem for perforated window graphic film.
To avoid edge lifting or other damage to the vinyl, follow these
important steps:
1. Use a spray nozzle with a 40° wide spray pattern.
2. Be sure the spray nozzle includes a nozzle protector (tip
guard).
3. Use a pressure of 2000 psi or less.
4. If the system is heated, limit the water temperature to 180°F
or less.
5. Hold nozzle at least 12 inches away from and perpendicular
to the graphic.
6. Do not direct the water stream at a sharp angle to the edge
of the graphic.
Automatic Brush Washing
Automatic brush washing is possible, but not advised. If you
choose to clean the vehicle in this manner, keep these two points
in mind:
1. Brushes can catch a loose edge of the graphic and cause further
damage to the graphic.
2. Brushes can dull the finish of the graphic.
Hand Washing Exterior Graphics
1. Flush the graphic with clean water to remove loose dirt particles.
A trigger-type hose nozzle is convenient for this purpose.
2. Use a mild liquid detergent and water solution and wash the
graphic with a soft brush, rag or sponge. Wash thoroughly from
the top down. Avoid abrading the graphic by unnecessary scrubbing.
After applying the cleaning solution, keep a steady stream of
water flowing on the graphic to wash away dirt particles.
3. Rinse the entire graphic thoroughly with clean water. Air
dry.
Removing Difficult Contaminants
Some contaminants may remain after following the normal cleaning
procedures. Most contaminants can be removed using one of the
following methods.
1. To remove tar, oil, diesel smut or bituminous material: Wipe
with a rag dampened with kerosene or mineral spirits. Do not
use other solvents. Wash immediately with detergent and water,
then rinse with clean water.
2. To remove pollen and fungus: Wash the graphic with a full-strength
household bleach solution or mild liquid detergent and water.
Rinse with clean water immediately.
3. To remove crayon, lipstick, or similar materials: Select
an appropriate solvent and test it in an inconspicuous area
to ensure it removes the contaminant without damaging the graphic.
Wash immediately with mild liquid detergent and water, then
rinse with clean water.
